Great scenery! Fun run in the warm Arizona sun!
This run is so fun, so beautiful and so well organized. I love the location and the views of the Superstition Mountains. Very well organized, great volunteers, my favorite run. Can't wait for next year!
I have run dozens of races and this one is at the top of my list! It was so well organized. I appreciated the updates the week prior, the expo was very good for such a small race and the aid stations were exceptional! Great medals and lots of awards ... My whole family came from Canada and together we ran 3 halfs, 1 full and 1 8k. There is something for everyone at the LDM
This event has it all! From the super organization, friendly volunteers, desert and mountains views, aid stations and patrols along the way, medals and t shirts we're proud to own, and food at the finish that restores our energy. This is an event that I look forward to each year. Job well done!
I'm so glad I chose to run this race! As a first-timer to Arizona, the views on this course took my breath away (good thing I still had just enough breath left to keep running).
Such a well organized event from the bus ride to the marathon star to the finish line festivities. Campfires are a great way to mingle with fellow runners and the volunteers do a fantastic job. There's plenty of aid stations along the way and even vaseline available at mile 17. You all think of everything. Lost Dutchman was my first half back in 2013 and happy to say 2015 was my first full. You folks made it special
Awesome start with the mesquite fires and mats, beautiful scenery, and the friendliest volunteers and runners. Fun at the finish. Kudos, you do it right!
Dear Grady and the entire Lost Dutchman Marathon Team - Thank you. Your organization was beyond first class. I've been to a few races lately that left me feeling a bit underwhelmed and disappointed. That's no way to feel after traversing 26.2 miles. But your race, your team, reminded me of the joy of running. There's something truly empowering about perfect strangers hoping you achieve your own personal best. It's my favorite thing about running -- this wonderfully solitary goal amidst the most supportive communal atmosphere. The good people on the course and behind the scenes exceeded all expectations for this runner -- from the seemingly individual mesquite fires at the start to the encouragement at the numerous water stops to the round of cheers and enthusiasm at the finish, your race proved second to none on making every runner feel like the most important person on the course. I cannot rave loudly or enough about the experience. I have several races that I consider the very best experiences in my running career and the Lost Dutchman is now deservedly on that list. I cannot fathom the time and energy and hard work you and your team have to put in to pull this race off but it was all very much appreciated. So permit me to end these comments as I began -- Thank You.
Unique marathon
Thoroughly enjoyable; the course, the scenery, the aid stations, the shirt and medal; even the burritos! Lives up to its reputation as the best little marathon in the West..........and all the proceeds go to support youth running. Congratulations!
Will gladly travel all the way from Seattle again just to be in this race! So well run and beautiful surroudings!
I loved this race! Beautiful, traffic-free course, awesome volunteers, and responsive race administrators.i loved the number and locations of the porta-potties at the start/finish and along the course. No long lines at any point. Prospector Park is a perfect place to start and end the half-marathon and 10K. I'll be back for this one!
This was my 25th marathon, first time Lost Dutchman runner, and if I were to determine a favorite, it would be the Lost Dutchman. The scenery is unmatched! The route, organization, medal, shirt, volunteers, etc. was all spot on! I took my time on Sunday to enjoy my surroundings and thank everyone along the course.
My favourite race of the year, with perfect racing conditions and beautiful desert location.
Made the trip to AZ solely for the purpose of the 8k desert trail run. This run was spectacular - thank goodness the snakes were apparently still hibernating! The whole race event was exceptionally well organized & the volunteers were outstanding. The post race food selection was well thought out & really appreciated. This was a great event with a run to fit all abilities. I would not hesitate to recommend this event to anyone.
2015 was my 8th year running this marathon- and I travel from Portland to do it! out of the 124 marathons I have run, it is hands down my favorite! thank you so much for the amazing time every year!

We're from NJ, this is our favorite destination race for the past 8 years. Top notch organization & friendly/informed volunteers made this a very runner-savvy event...treated us all like rock stars! Grady/Rick are so hands-on in making this a personal best for all -- be it finish-line-time or just the funnest-time-ever! Thanks for the great memories, we'll be back in 2016
I chose LD as my 50th state half marathon race, and so glad I did. Loved the entire experience, the RD assigning bib # 50, the shout out at the prerace warm up, the finish line excitement and the overall vibe of the race. It was one of the best days of my running life and so thankful I chose LD as my 50th state. Thank you!
There is so much that's right about The Lost Dutchman: beautiful scenery, friendly volunteers, interesting and varied course, just the right amount of competitors. Plus, everyone should get to this part of the world at some point, and if running compels you there, go for it! And make sure to drive the Apache Trail while you're there.
Awesome course with amazing volunteers the whole way!! Everything was so well organized! This is definitely one of my most favorite marathons! I also love that it is non-profit and benefits the AJ community! I tell everyone they need to run the LDM!!
I really enjoyed this race, from the communication through emails, packet pick up, pre- race shuttle, pre- race campfire, course, medal, post-race shuttle and availability of shower at the state park, last but not least, the volunteers. Everyone was very supportive and helpful. I can tell they are proud of their race and want us all to come back to attend it again or tell our running friends about it...

I ran the 8k trail and had a lot of fun! I loved the fact that every distance had its own medal. Definitely coming back next year... but now I have to pick the distance, that's gonna be hard he he
Such a great event! The expo was very fun, and race day is well organized. The views on the way out for the half and 10K are just beautiful, as is the view from mile 6.55 when you realize you can run down that hill you just climbed! Many thanks to all involved.
This is by far my favorite race in Arizona. It is well organized and the views are breathtaking. I especially love seeing the Lost Dutchman and his donkey every year!
Awesome All Around! No hassle to get there; parking was easy; shuttles were great; plenty of water stations! HUGE THANK YOU to the high school students, seniors, military, police, fire and all volunteers! They were great, taking the time to sit and watch a marathon for us! Great ceremonies after! Perfect snacks, great setting, one of the best races ever! looking forward to next year!
beautiful mountain scenery and well organized
Great race, fabulous volunteers and outstanding organization. I race every year in the 1/2 and as a Tri Coach - this is one of my favorite races for my athletes to have a challenging training day.
This was my first 10k. I was very impressed with the course, and extremely impressed with how organized it was. It was easy to park, and I liked the fact there was a bus to drive us to the race. There were no long lines to park and we were able to leave the race quickly with no issues. Good job! I will be back next year for sure.
Have done many many halves and fulls and other lengths of races. Loved loved loved this. Fun family atmosphere even without my family. Traveled from MO to sunny AZ and had a great time. Lovely course. Well organized. Great job! And as a person with a food allergy, it's always nice to see choices at the end that are a little friendly for all of us.
Love the course. I don't like turnarounds like the one between the 19th and 20th mile. Everything else was fantastic from the Goodies at the start to the fires, the shuttles, the expo, all the amazing volunteers at every water stop, and to every sheriff and C.O.P. at every intersection keeping us runners safe from traffic. Amazing, Amazing support from all the volunteers. I will recommend this race to everyone I come in contact with. Thanks for a great weekend Apache Junction.
The Lost Dutchman Half was fantastic! The out and back course was the perfect number of low rolling hills to keep things interesting and by some weird trick of the mind I felt like it was downhill both ways! Maybe it was the spectacular scenery, maybe it was the perfect weather, maybe it was the great volunteers that made my day awesome. My first and only other half marathon was in 1991 but I'm super jazzed up after the Lost Dutchman! Do I really have to wait a whole year to do it again?
4th Year Running (10K) Always an amazing Event!
Amazing volunteers all along the course! We came from Colorado to run this race and loved every minute! We will be back.

We had 70 participates this year at the Lost Dutchman running for the Harvest Compassion Center. We cannot thank the organizers enough for putting on such a great event. Everything was done so well. We're looking forward to seeing you again next year.

This was my second LD half marathon, and second half marathon ever. This run is so unbelievably organized, and the scenery is so beautiful, that it keeps me coming back. I love every aspect of this run!

I loved this race. It was one of the most organized events that I have participated in, from the signage, to the parking, to the shuttles, to the bag check/claim, to the food line. The views were stunning and the course (10K) mostly level with a few gentle hills.

Very well organized race with very good intentions. You can really tell they aren't doing this to make money, they really care about the quality of the race, the experience, the medals, the tee shirts, etc.

Perfect Weather, Plenty of Water Stations, Fast Record Setting PR Course! No other Race compares to this Small Town Fresh Air Friendly People Atmosphere!!!! All runners should mark this event and place this race on their bucket list!!
I really can't say enough about how great the marathon was. Great support from you guys, and the community was out in force. I have done a bunch of marathons and this was the best.
First time to run here. View was worth the hour drive. I loved looking at the mountain as we ran the first 1/2 of our 10k. I can't wait to sign up for next years race.
This was a beautiful race! Every volunteer was so friendly. I appreciate the last minute flexibility of the race organizers, given the unexpected hot weather. The cold towels and ice on the course were great!

What a fun day! My daughter Jessica Mogk completed her first marathon and I ran the 8K. We were impressed with the location, volunteers, medals, and whole set up. My trail run was beautiful. Love the fact our family could track progress in Flagstaff and Illinois. Thank you!

Fantastic course with wonderful, motivating volunteers! I'm usually not a fan of out and back courses, but I love this one! The scenery and amazing runners will definitely keep me coming back year after year. Oh, and the post-race breakfast was awesome! Loved the burritos, and as a back-of-the-pack runner, it was nice to see that there was still food left. Food like that is usually gone by the time I finish in most of the events I've done.

For a small marathon the race is very well supported by volunteers and also folks cheering at the roadside! From start to finish everyone was having a good time! Very friendly people and I hope to come back!
The burning logs at the arrival to our starting location were something else!
This was my first Lost Dutchman, and my first trail run, and it won't be my last! The race was entertaining from beginning to end. The volunteers were incredible and so numerous, and the race organization was second to none. Good job guys!
