Lost Dutchman 2014 Feedback

This is my favorite race to run every year! The organizers and volunteers do a fabulous job to make this a successful Arizona running event.

A great destination event. Traveling from the Midwest to the Valley of the Sun for a race was a joy! Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the staff at Prospector Park, to the wonderful volunteers, to the enthusiastic runners and spectators. The LDM organization did a fantastic job handling the enormous crowds. The weather could not have been better in my opinion, but, again, I was coming from Michigan where I had not seen bare pavement in months! If I had the means, I would run this event every year!

The marathon start and the first six miles were absolutely magical with the pre-dawn campfires, full moon, and then the sunrise giving way to a beautiful desert scape!

I just ran the LDM Full Marathon yesterday. my feedback is this: great job on course logistics, traffic control and transportation to the start. all the event staff, volunteers, and law enforcement support on the course were friendly, supportive, and really made for a great race experience! This race has all the little touches that make you want to come back again and again!! Well organized & excellent volunteers!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful...from the expo to the bus drivers, and of course, the course volunteers!! I so enjoy the prospector and Daisy and the finish!! The food was great and I also got a massage!! All those details just leave you feeling happy and who wouldn't want to support a race like that?? Plus, from what I understand, you are one of very few non-profit marathons that truly gives back to the community! Good to see that!

I participate in tens of events every year - Best Race Crew EVER! From the parking lot at the Rodeo grounds to the finish line. I cannot say enough good things about the organization of this race!! Oh, the scenery is pretty spectacular, as well.

This was my third year running the LDM. I always want to do new races but am pulled back to this one. I love the desert run for the first six mi. The scenery is great. Mostly, I love how few people do it. This race makes me hate the rock and roll series.

This was my fist half marathon ever and I can proudly say I loved every minute of it. From the sign up to expo to race day you all made everything smooth and effortless. Where ever you looked you were greeted by a smile. All the volunteers on the course at all the aid stations cheered you on as you went through and clapped. Even feeling completely fatigued on the last stretch is still brought a smile to my face. Top it all off my family and I went to lunch at Los Gringos in Apache Junction and was greeted by the owner with a smile and a hand shake with a quick story telling of how he helped but the race together in its first years. Cant say enough good things, What a great day!!!

I did the half marathon this year. I live in Apache Junction and this was my first time running this event. I have ran in many events prior to this one and this was by far one of the best experiences that I have had at a race. Not only was it in my home town, but there were not too many people, they did not charge you for every little thing, and there were many volunteers and helpers. It was very organized and an awesome course! I am going to do the marathon next year to see another side of the Superstition Mountains!

I have been wanting to be at one of the Lost Dutchman race events for a number of years, but finally made the 10K this year. The race is awesome. Absolutely beautiful. I love that the # of race participants is limited, and that the money stays right in our community. I will be training for the 1/2 marathon for next year, and want to come for as many years going forward as I am able. Thank you for a wonderful event!

This was a great event! I ran the 1/2 marathon. The only snag was when I went to pick up my race packet the Thursday prior, there was no record of my registration. The staff quickly remedied the problem. The course was beautiful, and we'll marked. Plenty of water stations. It started on time! The volunteers ran this event like a well-oiled machine. And the hardware is awesome! I deceived to get my name and time engraved. Thanks for a great event, hope to see you next year!

Beautiful finisher medals, and the age group medals were some serious heavy metal!! This race is so well run right from the beginning with the police officers helping us to park. The volunteers are amazing, so friendly and kind, and you can tell they really WANT to be there. The t-shirts are high quality that I wear throughout my winter runs for years. I love that the event is small and friendly, but I'm happy to see it becoming more and more popular as the years go on!

Once again a Great job to the folks that put this race together. I totally forgot about the 7 mile incline at the end of the Full marathon. Made for a challenging run along with the heat of course. But overall a Great Race! Will definitely do again.

This was my 9th LDM, and the hottest. You and your team did a great job keeping everyone in good shape out there, and the towels were a huge help, thanks for that. Also, when I finished with my son, one of the volunteers gave him a medal too, which was completely unexpected. He is so excited about it and now he wants to move up from the 2 miler to 8k next year to earn one

. His first words to me after we got out of the finishers corral were I want to get one for real next year. I love that he has been bitten by the running bug too, and this experience has helped with that, thank you. My wife Rosa also came this year and finished the half, so it is really a family event for us. I didn't need another reason to come back next year for #10, but I have one.
