If I sign up for one of the longer races and decide to switch to a shorter race what is the process?

You may switch races anytime up to the close of the expo on Saturday provided the shorter race has not reached capacity.

How do I confirm my registration?

Registration Confirmation: To confirm your registration visit our registration confirmation page or login to your account at ChronoTrack and check your calendar.

Do all participants receive a tee shirt?

Yes, everyone who enters any Lost Dutchman event will receive a Gildan "tech tee" long sleeved shirt. Shirts are distributed with race packets.

What are normal temperatures for Apache Junction on President's Day?

The average low temperature for Apache Junction in February is 44°F, and the average high is 70°F with a mean of 57°F. (The record low in February is 24°F, the record high is 88°F.)

The marathon start is 500' higher and will be a few degrees cooler. February is the in the rainy season, with an average monthly precipitation of 1.60" inches.

Are race pacers available for runners?

The Half Marathon features race pacers to help runners with their personal race goals. See Half Marathon pacers. LDM sponsored pacers are not available for our other events.

Do you offer a military discount?

Yes, we offer a discount for active duty service members, veterans, and their spouses. Please email registration@lostdutchmanmarathon.org to receive your discount code.

Are the 10K and 8K courses certified?

No.

Is the Lost Dutchman Half Marathon course USATF certified?

The half marathon is a USATF certified course (AZ23002JOE).

Is the Lost Dutchman Marathon course USATF certified?

The marathon is a USATF certified course (AZ23001JOE) that can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Do I need a qualifying time to be eligible for the Lost Dutchman Marathon?

No, however the course officially closes after 6 hours. The finish line officially closes after 6 1/4 hours.

You will be expected to reach benchmark locations on the course by certain times as described under "What happens if I am unable to maintain a 6 1/4 hour pace."

Does the Lost Dutchman Marathon have a maximum number of participants?

In order to maintain a small, friendly race and stay within the capacity of Prospector Park, registrations will be limited for the 2026 Lost Dutchman Marathon races.

The marathon is limited to 400 participants, and the Half Marathon is limited to 900 runners. Maximum registration for the 10K is 800 and 800 for the 8K Trail Run. There is no limit on the number of participants in the 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk.
