Directions & Parking
All Lost Dutchman races except the full marathon start and end in Prospector Park. Marathoners must park at the Rodeo Grounds.
Marathon Transportation
All runners will be bused to the start. No private vehicle drop off of runners at the start line will be allowed. The marathon finishes at Prospector Park, there are regular shuttles back to the Rodeo Grounds.
Bus Schedule Timeline
Marathoners must park at the Rodeo Grounds. Clothing will be transported back to the finish line and made available immediately after the race on the basketball courts in the park.
Location: 1590 East Lost Dutchman Road
First Bus: 4:30 AM
Last Bus to Start: 5:45 AM
Return Transportation: Regular shuttles available throughout the day back to Rodeo Grounds
This is the recommended option for all marathon runners. Your clothing will be transported to the finish line for you.
First Bus: 5:20 AM
Last Bus: 5:55 AM
⚠️ Important: This is DROP-OFF ONLY. Unattended cars may be towed.
⚠️ No Return Transportation: There is no transportation provided back to the school after the race.

Overflow: North on Idaho & on McKellips
Continuous service between Rodeo Grounds and Prospector Park
- First Shuttle: Departs Rodeo Grounds at 5:00 AM
- Service: Continuous runs throughout the day
- Last Shuttle: Departs Prospector Park at 2:00 PM
- Walk Alternative: Approximately 0.9 miles if you prefer to walk
Idaho Road: Closed at 7:00 AM - Do not attempt to access the park via Idaho after this time
Lost Dutchman Boulevard: Closed at 6:00 AM through the duration of the event
To Rodeo Grounds (Marathon Parking):
Travel east on U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) from Phoenix.
Exit at Tomahawk Road
Head north approximately 2 miles
Turn left into the Rodeo Grounds entrance
To Prospector Park:
Travel east on U.S. 60
Exit at Ironwood - turn left
Proceed north on Ironwood approximately 4.5 miles
Turn right onto McKellips Road
Proceed one mile and turn right onto Idaho Road
Park is approximately ½ mile ahead
Option 1: Use U.S. 60 as described above
Option 2: If traveling southeast on SR 202 (Red Mountain Freeway):
- Exit on University, turn left
- Proceed east to Ironwood
- North to McKellips
- East to Idaho
- South to the park
Traveling northeast on SR 202 (San Tan Freeway):
- Connect to U.S. 60 and follow directions above, OR
- Exit at University and follow Mesa/Scottsdale directions
Spectator Information
Best Viewing Locations
Prospector Park is the ideal location to see:
- Start and finish of the Half Marathon, 10K, and 8K
- Finish line for the Full Marathon
- Post-race festivities
Parking Options for Spectators
Park at the Rodeo Grounds and take the FREE shuttle to Prospector Park. Shuttles run continuously from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Alternative: Limited parking available at or near Prospector Park
- Exit Ironwood from U.S. 60
- Follow orange arrows on access map
- Overflow parking on Idaho Road (north of park)
- Additional overflow on McKellips
Marathon Course Viewing
Spectator-friendly locations along the marathon course are marked on the course map in the Maps tab. These locations offer great opportunities to cheer on runners at multiple points during their race!
Idaho Road closes at 7:00 AM. Plan to arrive before this time if parking near Prospector Park, or use the Rodeo Grounds parking with shuttle service.
