Lost Dutchman Marthon was named the Apache Junction Non-Profit of the Year for 2016.
The Lost Dutchman Marathon, Inc. is a public charity run by an all-volunteer board of directors and officers with proceeds directed to local youth organizations focused on the economically disadvantaged.
Since the Lost Dutchman Marathon’s inception in 2002 we have donated over $588,000 to various local youth organizations.
Your support, as a participant, a sponsor, a volunteer or as a contributor is appreciated and essential for continued success of the organization. As we prepare for our 18th event, we are excited about our ongoing sponsorship of children in need, and staging of a world class event.

The Lost Dutchman Marathon committee presented the City of AJ Parks & Recreation Department with $20,000 to fully fund the youth scholarship fund and sponsor family running events in the downtown area. $18,000 is spent annually on full and partial scholarships to insure that all kids have the opportunity to take swimming lessons, participate in sports, and out-of-school-time programming, regardless of their financial situation.
During the Lost Dutchman Marathon's annual post race committee banquet, we handed out $60,000 in donations to support local youth groups and organizations. The distribution for 2018 was:
